   “Cleveland is on U.S. Highway 59 forty miles northeast of Houston in northwestern Liberty County
  The recorded history of he area began in 1836, when the General Land Office offered land in the
  county in exchange for military service. In 1854 Father Peter La Cour, who was evidently the first
  priest resident in the county, built a church and convent near the present town site.”
  Cleveland ISD
    A unique community in Southeast Texas, located on U.S. Highway 59, Cleveland has the diversity
  and independent spirit that gives America its strength. Two public school districts, Cleveland ISD
  and Tarkington ISD, primarily serve the Cleveland area.
   
Conroe, Texas
    “Seat of Montgomery County is on the southern edge of Big Thicket area. Towering pines, rolling
  hills, and woodland lakes offer abundant outdoor recreational opportunities; 10 area golf courses,
  resorts and marinas on Lake Conroe. The old (1931) but still-producing Conroe Oil Field southeast of
  city is of interest, and historic locations are marked. Storied community of Cut 'n Shoot is 5 miles
  east of Conroe. Shoppers find bargains at the Conroe Outlet Center at I-45 and League Line Road.”
  Conroe ISD
    “CISD is a learning community united in its commitment to ensuring all students
  graduate with confidence and competence  The schools and communities work together to provide
  performance standards which can be applied to the real world. This is achieved through the
  implementation of quality in instruction, operations, and leadership.
   
Humble Texas
    Located in the northeast quadrant of the Houston metropolitan area, just 21 miles from downtown
  on Highway 59, the greater Humble area includes Atascocita, the City of Humble, Kingwood, and
  Spring, all of which are currently experiencing robust population and economic growth.
  “Its name came not from Humble Oil Company, as newcomers to the area often believe, but from a
vagabond fisherman by the name of P.S. ‘Pleasant’ Humble who wandered into the area in the late
  1890s and settled along the banks of the San Jacinto River with his wife and family just before the
  Civil War. Humble Oil Company got its name from the town near its most famous discovery, not the
  other way around.”
  Humble ISD
    Located just 17 miles from the heart of downtown Houston, the Humble Independent School District offers small
  town atmosphere with easy access to big city amenities. Humble ISD covers 90 square miles in Harris County. It is
  located north of Houston on US Highway 59 and includes the communities of Atascocita, Humble and Kingwood.
   
Magnolia, Texas
    With a modest beginning in the timber industry, Magnolia has grown from its settler and sawmill
  beginnings to a sprawling center of commerce. The community was first settled in the late 1840s
  and named Mink’s Prairie for one of its early settlers, Joseph Mink. On September 3, 1885, a post office 
  was established at Mink.  It was renamed Magnolia for the magnolia trees in the bottoms of adjacent
  Mill Creek and granted a post office in 1903.
 
Magnolia ISD
    “Magnolia became an independent school district in 1950 and has grown to include five elementary
  schools, two junior high schools, one high school and an alternative campus. Two new campuses opened
  in August of 2002. The latest enrollment figure on August 16, 2001 was 7,375 students.”
   
New Caney, Texas   /   Porter, Texas
    “New Caney, also known as Presswood, is on the Southern Pacific line at the junction of Farm Road
  1485 and State Highway Loop 494, seventeen miles southeast of Conroe in southeastern Montgomery County.
  New Caney ISD
    The New Caney Independent School District is located approximately 30 miles northeast of Houston
  in East Montgomery County serving the residents in the Porter, New Caney and Kingwood
  communities.
   
Splendora, Texas
    Splendora is at the junction of U.S. Highway 59 and Farm Road 2090, on the Southern Pacific
  Railroad six miles north of New Caney and twenty-two miles from Conroe in eastern Montgomery County
  Splendora ISD
    “All Splendora Independent School District graduates will be competitive world-class learners and workers."
